12 Fibers MTP OM4 Fiber Optic Loopback Module for 40/100G Network Testing

High-performance 12F MTP OM4 Fiber Optic Loopback Module/Cable designed for testing and verification of network equipment in 40G/100G applications.

The MTP loopback contains MTP fiber jumpers configured in a loopback arrangement, connecting both ends of the fiber into a single MTP connector to create a continuous light path within the same connector. This enables testing of device launch capacity and receiving sensitivity, particularly in 40/100G network communications, by returning signals to identify various potential issues and effectively evaluate individual components or interfaces on fiber networks.

Available in multiple configurations to accommodate 8-core, 12-core, and 24-core MTP connectors with various fiber arrangements to match test port requirements.

MTP Loopback modules provide looped signals to test transmit and receive functions, widely used in testing environments especially within parallel optics 40G and 100G networks. Loopbacks are engineered to link Transceiver (TX) and Receiver (RX) positions of MTP transceiver interfaces, facilitating and accelerating IL testing of optical network segments when connected to MTP trunks/patch leads.

A loopback test transmits a signal from a communication device and loops it back to the same device to verify proper functionality and troubleshoot defective network nodes. Optical loopbacks specifically verify the operational reliability of devices by routing the signal emitted from the transmit (Tx) end of an active component back to the receive (Rx) end of the same component using fiber optic loopback cables or modules.

Fiber optic loopback testing is primarily used for checking fiber optic transceivers. Since transceivers have separate ports for receiving and transmitting light signals, loopback testing provides the most convenient method for transceiver maintenance. The testing process routes laser signals from transmitter ports back to receiver ports, comparing transmitted patterns with received patterns to ensure identical, error-free performance.
