8 Fibers MTP OM4 Fiber Optic Loopback Module for 40/100G Network Testing

The MTP loopback contains an MTP connector that routes both ends of the fiber into the same connector, creating a complete light path loop. This enables testing of device launch capacity and receiving sensitivity, particularly in 40/100G network communications. By returning signals to the source, it helps locate various network phenomena and enables effective testing and evaluation of individual components or interfaces within fiber optic networks.

Available in multiple configurations to accommodate 8-core, 12-core, and 24-core MTP connectors with various fiber configurations to match test port requirements. The 8F MTP Fiber Loopback Module specifically verifies and tests transceivers with MTP interfaces for 40GBASE-SR4/CSR4 QSFP+ devices.

MTP Loopback modules provide looped signals to test both transmit and receive functions. They are widely used in testing environments, especially within parallel optics 40G and 100G networks. These loopbacks connect the Transmit (TX) and Receive (RX) positions of MTP transceiver interfaces and can facilitate insertion loss testing of optical network segments when connected to MTP trunks and patch leads.

Fiber optic loopback testing is commonly used to verify fiber optic transceivers. Since transceivers have separate ports for receiving and transmitting light signals, loopback testing provides the most convenient method for transceiver maintenance. The testing process routes the laser signal from the transmitter port back to the receiver port, then compares transmitted and received patterns to ensure they are identical and error-free.
