Three Connection Methods for MTP/MPO Polarity
Polarity A Connection
Polarity A MPO cables use a key up, key down design. Position 1 of one connector corresponds to position 1 of another connector with no polarity flip. When using polarity A MTP cables, A-B duplex patch cables are required on one end and A-A duplex patch cables on the other end to ensure proper signal transmission.
Polarity B Connection
Polarity B MTP cables use a key up, key up design. Position 1 of one connector corresponds to position 12 of another connector. This design flips polarity, allowing fiber 1 to transmit to fiber 12 (Rx1 to Tx1).
Polarity C Connection
Polarity C MPO cables use a key up, key down design with internal fiber cross configuration. Position 1 of one connector corresponds to position 2 of another connector, flipping polarity for proper signal transmission.
